I live north of Seattle with my husband, cat, and dog.
I grew up with a very large extended Latin family. It seemed like every get-together was a party. There was always amazing food. After cooking in restaurants and hotels when I was younger, I realized I wanted to move in a different direction. I’ve been cooking for friends and family for many years and shifted my menus to accommodate special dietary restrictions and major lifestyle changes. For me, it’s more about the nuts and bolts of organizing your life to go through the change along the way. I’m a big believer in holistic healing and food for mood.
Sometimes life forces us to make changes that we weren’t expecting. Having the support you need to go through the change can make the biggest difference in long-term results.
I’m passionate about helping people navigate through these food and diet changes.
About the Blog
There are thousands of recipe blogs out there. I decided to take a different approach. This blog is about making lifestyle changes through food.
You’ve just been diagnosed with a food allergy, or you are preparing for cancer treatment, weight-loss surgery, recovering from a new child birth, or any number of other life situations that require an immediate change in diet.
I’ll be walking through a number of scenarios from the start to get through the initial transition.
- family support,
- planning (if possible),
- food alterations
- dining and shopping options,
- social etiquette
I’ll show you basic cooking and knife techniques, and talk about assessing your like and dislikes so we can find food that will fit your new situation.
I’ll introduce new books, magazines, and tools that can fit your lifestyle and comfort level.
We’ll talk about different types of motivation, and the latest science-based trends.
My love is in creating unique experiences through food.
